Who is this programme for?

Workers and supervisors in factories, warehouses, maintenance operations and other general-industry workplaces who need a structured view of common safety risks.

The Level 2 workplace award supports employees’ understanding of responsibilities, common hazards, communication and basic management arrangements.

What will you learn?

Recognise hazards across different work activities and explain why controls and reporting responsibilities matter.

  • Responsibilities, hazard communication and selection of suitable protective measures.
  • Electrical hazards, work at height, confined spaces and machinery-related risks.
  • Emergency arrangements, reporting and the role of day-to-day supervision.

How does the learning apply during a normal shift?

A routine task can involve several hazards at once: moving materials near pedestrians, using portable tools and working around stored substances. The course helps you connect those observations with the appropriate control and reporting arrangements, instead of treating each issue as an isolated rule.

This broader view is useful during induction, toolbox discussions and supervisor checks. It helps teams explain what has changed in the work area and why an existing precaution may need review.

Which organisation issues this programme?

This catalogue entry is an OSHAS programme from the Occupational Safety and Health American Society. Its course certificate should not be confused with a U.S. Department of Labor OSHA Outreach card.

General industry or construction: which route should I choose?

Choose the setting that reflects your work. General-industry learning relates to ongoing operations such as production, maintenance and warehousing. Construction courses put more emphasis on changing sites, temporary work and construction activities. A broad course also needs to be supported by instruction for the tasks you actually perform.
