Who is this programme for?
Safety practitioners, instructors and supervisors who need to explain safety topics, organise learning and evaluate understanding.
This 70-hour training route focuses on explaining oil-and-gas hazards and safety practices to others, using training plans, demonstrations and checks of understanding.
What will you learn?
Turn technical safety knowledge into planned learning that people can understand, practise and use at work.
- Identifying training needs and setting clear learning objectives.
- Planning sessions, choosing methods and using demonstrations or case discussions.
- Checking understanding, providing feedback and reviewing training effectiveness.
How do you know a safety session has worked?
A clear presentation is only one part of effective training. Learners also need opportunities to explain a concept, discuss a realistic situation or demonstrate an appropriate skill under supervision. Their responses help the trainer find misunderstandings and adapt the explanation.
Good preparation connects the session objective with the audience’s work and a suitable way to check understanding. This is especially valuable when the same technical topic must be explained to people with different experience or language needs.
Does a Train the Trainer certificate authorise me to teach every course?
The course develops training skills within its subject scope. Authorisation to deliver a named qualification may require separate approval, technical competence and experience. Effective safety training combines subject knowledge with communication and an appropriate way to check whether learning can be applied.
