Who is ISO 31000 Risk Manager for?
The course suits people coordinating or advising on risk, including managers and consultants. PECB expects fundamental ISO 31000 understanding and knowledge of risk management. It connects risk principles, the organisational framework and the practical assessment process.
What happens during the four-day route?
The published agenda contains three training days followed by the certification exam on Day 4.
- Establishing the risk management framework and connecting it to organisational objectives.
- Defining context and performing risk identification, analysis and evaluation.
- Choosing treatment, monitoring results, recording decisions and communicating with stakeholders.
What experience is needed for certification?
After the exam, the Provisional Risk Manager route has no experience requirement. The Risk Manager grade requires two years’ professional experience, including one year in risk management, and 200 hours of risk-management activities. Higher grades have additional requirements. All routes include the applicable examination and ethics requirements.
Is risk management only a scoring matrix?
A matrix may help prioritisation, but the process also depends on context, reliable information, clear ownership and review. The course helps you explain why a risk matters, what treatment is appropriate and how decisions will be monitored.
